Our take
MSI's Optix MAG281URF is a fantastic 4K gaming monitor. The Rapid IPS panel offers excellent color and viewing angles, and the 144Hz refresh rate with 1ms response makes gameplay smooth. HDMI 2.1 is a great addition for next-gen consoles. G-SYNC compatibility works well. The 400 cd/m² brightness is robust. My only gripe is the 1000:1 contrast ratio, which is typical for IPS, but not as deep as VA or OLED.
